Village People Pizza is the creation of Emily and Andrea Bonotto, who have been dedicated to serving the Lismore community since their arrival in 2006. They previously owned and operated  Il Carretto Pizza from 2010 to 2019 and Dirtys Burger Bar and Craft Beer from 2017 to 2022. In 2022, they opened Village Cafes in Goonellabah and Lismore CBD, and now they run Village People Pizza, a beloved takeaway spot known for being the only place in Lismore offering traditional Italian pizza. Andrea journey began with his first sourdough baking course in 1999, but it was in Lismore that he started baking regularly. He built a wood-fired oven on a trailer in 2010, which sparked the local "pop-up" and food truck scene, pizza nights a hit among locals and tourists alike. Using sustainable, locally grown flours and a sourdough culture, Andrea crafts pizzas inspired by the recipes of his Italian upbringing. With a rich family history in hospitality—including a chef grandmother and a family-run hotel—he and Emily opened their venture in Goonellabah following the loss of Dirtys in the 2022 Lismore flood.
